Money-Back Policy
Last updated 11 August 2026
This Money-Back Policy explains when and how you may obtain a refund of amounts paid to Planty for access to the Planty plant identification, care and diagnosis service (the "Service"). It forms part of, and should be read together with, our Terms of Service. By purchasing a subscription or a one-time plan you confirm that you have read and accepted this policy.
1. Nature of the product
The Service is supplied as digital content. Plant identification, care schedules and reminders, diagnosis results and the care and cure guidance attached to them are generated for you and made available immediately upon successful payment. Delivery is complete at the moment access is provisioned to the account associated with your purchase, whether or not you subsequently choose to use that access.
Because the Service is digital content delivered immediately, and because you request and consent to that immediate delivery at checkout, statutory rights of withdrawal that would otherwise apply to distance contracts for goods do not automatically apply. Nothing in this policy limits any right you may have under mandatory consumer protection law in your place of residence, and where such law grants you a right that exceeds what is described here, that law prevails.
2. Refunds where the Service does not work for you
We would rather you did not pay for something you are not using. If you decide within fourteen (14) days of your first purchase that the Service is not for you, write to us at the address in section 6 from the email address used at purchase and we will refund the amount paid for the current period. You do not need to give a reason, and we will not ask you to prove anything.
This voluntary window applies once, to a first purchase, and to purchases made directly through the Planty checkout — not to purchases made through the Apple App Store or another reseller, which are governed by that store's own refund rules and must be requested from them. It is offered in addition to, and without prejudice to, your statutory rights.
3. Refunds where access fails
Separately from section 2, if you paid for the Service and were not able to access what you paid for because of a fault on our side — provisioning failed, the account was not created, the subscription did not attach to your app, or a technical defect attributable to us prevented access for a material period — you are entitled to a refund of the affected period, whenever it happened and without the fourteen-day limit.
Please contact us as soon as you become aware of the problem. In most cases we would prefer to restore your access, and we will attempt to do so first; if access cannot be restored within a reasonable period, we will refund you.
4. What a refund is not for
The Service identifies plants and suggests care and treatment from photographs and from the information you give us. It does not guarantee that a plant will recover, and no refund is available on the basis that a plant died, failed to thrive, or did not respond to the guidance provided. Living things depend on conditions we neither control nor observe. Section 1 of the Terms of Service explains the limits of what the Service can tell you, and it is worth reading before you rely on it.
Outside sections 2 and 3, and outside any mandatory statutory right, amounts paid are non-refundable. In particular, refunds are not ordinarily available where: access was provisioned and available to you but you chose not to use the Service; you were charged for a renewal period that you did not cancel before the renewal date, where the renewal terms and date were disclosed to you at purchase and in your account; or you request a refund after the periods stated in this policy have expired. Partial periods are not refunded.
5. Cancelling future charges
Cancelling a subscription and requesting a refund are different things. Cancellation stops future charges and takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for; it does not by itself refund amounts already taken. You may cancel at any time from your account settings, or by contacting us at the address in section 6 with the email address used at purchase.
Where your plan began with a paid trial, the trial converts to the recurring price disclosed at checkout unless you cancel before the trial ends. The price, the renewal cadence and the trial length are shown on the payment screen before you pay, and again in your confirmation email.
6. How to request a refund
Send a request from the email address used to make the purchase to support@theplanty.co, with the subject line "Refund request". Include the date of purchase and the plan purchased. If you are asking under section 3, a sentence describing what did not work helps us fix it for the next person as well as resolve it for you.
We aim to acknowledge requests within three (3) business days and to reach a decision within fourteen (14) days of receiving the information needed to assess it. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method. The time taken for the refunded amount to appear on your statement is determined by your bank or card issuer and is outside our control; ten (10) business days is common.
